Before we get started, let me tell you…
What I’ve Been Up To~
Gee, lately I’ve been organizing and processing. Putting things in trash or piles (I’m very good at making piles) and then forgetting what is in those piles, lol. So, I guess I’ve participated in disorganized organization!
Other than that, I’ve been getting into a movement frame of mind. The weather is getting better, and the Sun is up earlier. I envision some really nice walks coming into my life soon. They may be slow and jerky, but they will be enjoyed.
I recently have had problems with the video attachment to my laptop and could be I’ll have to purchase another one. When I get too many upgrades on the laptop, seems it downgrades the other apparatus. When I do, I’ll be able to get some videos going again.
I signed up for a Mediumship Demonstration with Hannah Macintyre on May 23. It’s a Zoom thing. Don’t know how that will go, but I’ll report on it in full in my Inner Circle posts when I do it.
So, now, on to the main journal about Doodles and Mandalas…
I gave this fun/serious project activity several times (Columbus, Dayton and Springfield, Ohio) It was a hit each time. I hope to offer it again…
DOODLES and Mandalas
Let your pencil or colored marker flow without judgment. We all doodle. We all make swirls, or flowers, or circles on pieces of scrap paper. Why not use this fun way to create your own mandala?
Random drawings done mindlessly can assist your conscious and subconscious mind. By using natural flowing designs, you can unleash your creative and inspirational self-awareness. Using the mandala as the focus gives you a direct map into “inner reality”.
Many years ago, Indian mystics cultivated direct experiences of the Absolute, the One, through meditation. Through these experiences their view of reality and the nature of the self were transformed, and they became enlightened.
Mandalas were used as a vehicle—or visual aid to return at will to enlightened states of consciousness, and they were also useful for training others in the skill. They have evolved as symbols, invocations, and containers of transpersonal energies. As objects of meditation, they act to protect the psychic space and concentration of the practitioner.
Mandalas are circles that create a sacred space. In eastern traditions they are also maps of the cosmos, delineating the process by which things are created and come into being—then cease to be, and reabsorbed into the All.
These ceaseless activities are thought to revolve around a central axis that is symbolized by the center point of the mandala. Sometimes the center of the mandala is occupied by a mythic mountain that supports the sky and rests upon a mystery beyond knowing. In other mandalas, the throne or dwelling place of a deity rests upon the sacred center. In both, the process by which the cosmos comes into being is understood as symbolic of the path to mystical states of consciousness.
Blending the random flowing lines and the spiritual mandala form, you can create your own symbol for meditation!
Doodles and mandalas are both forms of art, but they have distinct characteristics. Doodles are often simple drawings that can be made absentmindedly while a person is preoccupied with other thoughts. They are typically abstract and can be repetitive in nature. Doodling is often used as a way to pass the time or to help with concentration. Mandalas, on the other hand, are intricate and symmetrical designs that are often circular in shape. They have a long history in various spiritual and religious traditions and are often used as a tool for meditation and mindfulness. Creating mandalas can be a deliberate and focused practice, with each element of the design carrying symbolic meaning. In summary, doodles are often spontaneous and abstract, while mandalas are intentional and often have deeper symbolic significance.
Psychic Development Tip
Learn to focus on the breath. There is no other natural technique available to humans that will help you blend body/mind/spirit. When you breathe fully and focused only on the breath, then you open your heart center. This allows communion with the True (Higher) Self to activate full alignment with your Host of Spirits from the Other Side. (Not to mention that it is Life-Sustaining!) What if God Wasn’t a Figure Outside Yourself?
… but is simply the luminous pulse of unconditional love, REAL love, that lives in the center of your own being and fills you with a sense of delight and joy?
According to Danish-born spiritual mentor and author Anja Steensig, the mystical Nordic approach to spirituality is the simplest way she knows of connecting with the Divine… because it strips away all the excess layers of what the modern mind has created God to represent and eliminates the obstacles in the way of simply surrendering to the essence of love, the big love within your own heart.
Join Anja in a free video event, where she’ll remind you of your true nature — of the love that you ARE.
This is the Nordic path, in which there’s no spiritual hierarchy, ideas, thought systems, or religious tenets that impose commands about who you should be and how you’re supposed to live.
It’s a path into the truth that you and everything around you are infused with and radiate God’s essence. You can register for the free video event here.
