Fleur-de-leis, aka Iris and Honeybee.
The honeybee is quite a mystical creature! Endowed with riches and abundance, the bee is always depicted as royalty. There are many by-products from bees that provide beneficial wholistic treatments for our physical body, such as bee’s wax, royal jelly, honey, not to mention collection of pollen, which we view as positive pollination of our fruits, vegetables and flowers.
However, the bee represents so much more to us than merely physical benefits. Symbolically represented by the French fleur-de-lies, it speaks to us in ways of co-operation.
Every bee in one particular hive, goes forth, day in, day out, collecting the precious pollen to sustain the unity of the hive. All working towards the good of the whole - the one unit. Never thinking for one minute that the act of collecting their vital food may actually influence our well-being., the bees just do it out of instinct, acting as a part of the whole. Doing what seems natural to them. Not re-acting to outside stimulus, unless it were life threatening to the unit. This way, all goes well with their world. It is preserved to perfection.
And yet, just by preserving the unity naturally, it does have beneficial results in the larger scheme of things.
THE STORY OF IRIS
How guides can present themselves. As I look back at being a young girl, iris flowers were always my favorite. My mother took great pride in her flower gardens. Many of them were irises.
I usually picked as many as my hands would hold and presented them as a gift to Mom. The beautiful periwinkle color was an exciting color for me.
Pictures in the magazines we got at home with irises in them always drew my attention. I just thought I had affection for irises.
After I started sitting in my first unfoldment class, I began to wonder if I had a spirit guide represented by an iris. Sometimes other mediums would tell me the names of my guides, but never the name of Iris.
I wanted to find out for myself. Sometimes it is better to know something under your own power than from outside means.
One evening at home, while sitting quietly in meditation, I sincerely asked if I had a guiding force around me known as Iris, for it to be made apparent to me. I asked to be given a very physical, material clue so there was no doubt in my mind. Then I let it go and forgot about it.
My sister called the next day. Our cousin, who owned a small gift shop, was having an open house. She thought we should go. While we were there, we filled out cards with name, address and phone number for a door prize. We didn’t see what the prizes were; we just wanted to be on her mailing list.
Two days went by, and my cousin called to congratulate me. I had won the first prize in the giveaway. How great! “What is it?” I asked.
“It’s a beautiful carved wooden wall hanging. Come in and pick it up.”
So, I did. What was carved on it? A picture of a wild iris flower!
All those years I was attracted to the iris, but only then did I fully understand what it meant.
I see this as being “in the zone,” or in the field of synchronicity. Be very aware of your surroundings. If there seems to be something with a special connection to you, ask for confirmation.
When things of like vibration seem to catch your attention, pay attention to them, and find out what the meaning is for you.

The fleur-de-lies is the three aspects of our being: Body, Mind, Spirit. The triune being, stands for the total, full knowledge of ourselves. If we heed our intuition, we can learn from nature and use the idea of co-operation to work towards the good of the whole. We could possibly influence the larger picture, Royalty at our fingertips through the unity of all.
