What’s Up with Me~
The Spring (in the USA) is finally springing, and with it is a newfound health for me! My energy is coming back, and the local reservoir beacons for me to walk. And so, I shall!
I also have been consistently writing your journals and enjoy this immensely. I sincerely hope you are enjoying them and learning the Mystic’s Path! I strive to meet your needs and questions on psychic and metaphysical areas.
But I must engage with you for a minute. I also produce an Inner Circle (with the Mystic’s Workshop Series included) on Saturdays. It is the paid version of A Mystic’s Journal. This community is growing, and I don’t want you to miss out!
The Inner Circle contains much deeper, exclusive material for you. Each month I produce viral workshops that you can download and keep. You also always have access to all previous Inner Circle workshop archives from years before.
Not only do I include material, download, videos, guided meditations for you there, but I rely on your participation. The only way I can make this available is to ask you to become a paid member. I know, I very much dislike asking. I have never been good at promoting myself. But I see a need…
…and if you see a need, we can collaborate. By becoming a paid member of the Inner Circle, you will be helping me sustain my time and energy to provide fantastic information, in-depth analysis, and a vibrant community, all in support of the Mystic’s Path.
You are a vital part of my mystic’s journal. Thank you for being here.
The Short List of Helpful Hints on Consulting a Medium or Psychic
Here are a few things to think about before you have a reading with a psychic or medium -- or other reader, such as tarot or astrology:
Do you need a medium or psychic? A medium offers communication from spirit; a psychic attunes to and interprets the energy field of the sitter.
More money doesn't necessarily mean better information. Service offered by a good reader is invaluable; expect to pay a reasonable rate.
No medium can promise communication from a particular spirit loved one. If conditions are right and the medium is suitable for your loved ones to link with, then, very likely, you will get what you hope to receive.
Predictions: What you do tomorrow is being planned spiritually today. The energy of that plan is in the aura; but the future is not etched in stone.
Maintain your own power. Spirit loved ones wish to communicate to let you know they are OK and that there is life after death. Then, to guide and inspire, not to tell you about career, romance, and finances.
Know when to stop. Just as there is addiction to alcohol and gambling, consulting a reader can cause dependency and obsession. Also, if the reader is suggesting you come back weekly, know that there is something else going on. There could not possibly be more to cover in a week's time.
A good reading can be a very beneficial thing and should assist you through any concerns in your life and possible future endeavors. It should cover at least a six-month period, if not a year.
If you are dealing with a special problem, such as grief or a developing situation, then you may require several sessions. This would certainly be considered a spiritual counseling rather than mediumistic communication with a departed loved one. My Thoughts on Psychic Mediums and Readings
When you consider getting a psychic reading, be sure you keep these thoughts in mind. Just as people are all different, so are readers. There is no "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to psychic readers.
Some readers are upbeat, some are strong and forward in their presentation, some are humorous, others very serious. One is not better than the other. However, you may prefer a certain style. If the reader seems too aggressive for your emotional sensitivity, you are not expected to stay. Say so early in the session and make other arrangements for a different reader.
You have the right to end a reading if you are not comfortable. But it is advisable to do so after five to ten minutes, as soon as you realize it. To take up the time and energy of a full reading and then say you don’t think it’s a good match is not good etiquette. This would be a complete waste of your time and the reader’s energy.
In fact, the reader may even suggest the reading is not proceeding in a good way, and suggest you reschedule, or even see another reader, depending on what is happening. I’m usually able to recognize when I am not getting a good connection, or the session just doesn’t feel right. I will either ask for another scheduled time or offer the names of different readers that fit better with the style or substance needed for that client.
Sometimes the reader does not connect with the loved one you request. In fact, sometimes, if a client is so intent on speaking with only one special spirit, the connection might not happen at all. Spirit connection is not always receptive to pressure. As much as you may want it, and as much as the loved one’s spirit may want it, it may not always happen.
Once in a while, the client really doesn’t have any specific questions but wants a general reading. I may suggest they go to a tarot reader or palmist I know for this type of session. If you are getting a palm reading, understand that the reader will hold your hand at least part of the time. If you have an aversion to being touched by a stranger, then palm readings may not be your cup of tea. A tarot reader will be able to give you a full reading by using a spread of cards. You may not have to ask questions during this session, but I feel it is important to do so. Then you are more likely to get the information you need.
Astrology readings will be different. You’ll need to provide the date, time, and location (city) of your birth. Then there usually is a section of the session requiring the reader to calculate your specific chart. (Sometimes the astrologer asks for this ahead of time.)
As you can see, there are many types of readings and many types of readers. So be flexible in your expectations. However, the purpose of the reading is your betterment, and to provide information for you to make life decisions. This should be the reader’s main focus for your session. The reader will help you find the source of concerns or challenges, and will give you possibilities to strive for, or will suggest changes for positive life growth.
After having a psychic reading of any type, you should feel empowered and good about the choices you are making and about the directions you are moving in your life.

10 Hints for a Good Reading
Seek a medium’s help at a time when you are relaxed and undisturbed. Relax.
Allow the medium to proceed in their manner. don’t expect your biggest concern to be discussed at once. Patience
No medium wants or needs help. Let them know when they are correct. Be fair
Skepticism, demanding proof, arguing or wanting things done your way, only leads to failure. Expect good.
Spirit often manifests by name. However, evidence comes in many ways as well, such as descriptions, symbols etc. Be willing to verify.
Do not be too quick to say, “No.” Wait, you will soon understand.
The true value of a reading isn’t always measured by prophecy. Prediction is always possible, but you have free will to make changes in your life. Guidance is the key.
Mediumship is not fortune telling. A good reader should explain the philosophy of right living. Expect truth.
Every medium has a unique way of delivering a reading. comparing the abilities of one medium with another is unfair.
Trying to prolong a reading accomplishes nothing. The medium realizes when the spirit connection has ended. Please come again.

This is exactly the kind of wisdom that keeps the mystical world grounded. Love how you strip away the illusions and focus on what truly matters, discernment, trust and the understanding that a reading should empower, not create dependence.
The part about not forcing spirit communication is so important. Spirit moves on its own terms, not ours, and trying to control that only blocks the flow. And the ‘know when to stop’ reminder is pure gold. A good reading offers clarity, not a crutch.
This is the kind of guidance that protects both seekers and readers. So much respect for the depth and integrity here.
