Have you ever gone to a large gathering or party? You see everyone there. Looking around, you have a feeling that something is wrong. You don't really know what it is, but it just doesn't feel right. You instinctively decide to leave. Later, you find out there was some kind of trouble there. Your awareness to this feeling kept you from being in the trouble.
To know something with no outside knowledge of it, that is being intuitive. Being intuitive is a subtle way of reaching into deep energy fields unconsciously to know information and understand things around you. It is so subtle that we usually explain it away. We all have this ability. Children especially, are totally connected with this ability all the time. It is there for us as well. However, we must remember how to access that it again.
16 Tips on Being Intuitive
Wake Up. After all else has failed and you cannot figure out what to do about a situation (such as losing a job, illness, unhappiness, etc.), you realize your intelligent mind isn’t providing an answer. You cannot logically figure it out. You finally let go of Ego and open to other possibilities.
Dig Deep. Sonia Choquette (Intuitive Self-Help Teacher) calls this the second phase of opening up to intuition. You begin to pull within yourself and listen to your heart, your true self. “We start to recognize that we have another guidance system that we have been ignoring.”
Take a Leap of Faith. Let your heart lead you in making decisions, listen to your intuitive voice and allow it to flow from you.
Go out in Nature. Nature has a calming and centering effect, helps access intuition.
Ask a question out loud: If it was my higher self, if it was my spirit, what would my spirit say? And be sure to write it out because handwriting is the best since the hand is a direct link to the heart.
Always write down your impressions and images immediately. All impressions good, bad and ugly. Just keep it flowing.
Intuition speaks through the heart. Heart is not just a physical organ in the body. It is intelligent in a meta-physical way and develops quicker than the brain.
Program your thoughts before going to sleep, insuring you will access the subconscious in dreamtime. (include what you receive in the journal).
Walk in a safe area every day. Same route. Each day look at everything around you. Notice where to step, avoiding a rock or hole. Walk this path for at least a month seeing all the things around you: trees and their leaves, houses along the way, the colors nature shows you.
Next time, close your eyes and walk the same path. See the rocks you need to avoid, the trees and leaves, houses and colors. You can see them in your imaginary mind. It is powerful. THAT is your intuition bone!
Always go to the heart space. Do not think it, feel it. Feel the answer. Don’t ask yourself if it feels right. (The logical mind thinks in right or wrong.) Ask yourself if it feels true.”
Review in your mind what your home looks like. Close your eyes and remember the look of the front door, what foods you have in the refrigerator, what the car looks like.
Keep a journal that helps you keep track of all your intuitive awareness, dreams thoughts and insights
While recording your thoughts, jot them down without using spellcheck or good grammar. The fresh thoughts are important.
Meditation helps you get quiet and in the present moment. Quieting the mind helps you increase the awareness of your intuitive sense.
Put several items in a small basket. Make sure they are all different. Close your eyes and pick up one item. Sense it. Not what the item is, but how it feels. What energy does it have?
YIN/YANG Question and Answer Forum
Q/ I was hoping that you might be able to tell what my purpose is here on Earth? Does it have to do with my career?
A/ Compassion, Love and Caring for people. Don’t try to look for Ego driven ideas as your purpose. Allow it to be Natural Kindness.
