A Look at Forgiveness
First Excerpt of Novel, Legend of the Wren
Forgiveness
Forgiveness has always been a tricky thing. Many people think it means you have to forgive and forget what someone has done to you. There have been many ideas taught over the years about forgiveness. Some teach to forgive the person fully and unconditionally. Others suggest forgiving the deed done by someone. Still others say to forgive yourself for the way you received it.
I have a feeling there is rightness in all the forms of forgiveness, even though some of them are more difficult than others. I have a thought or two apart from the mainstream ideas on forgiveness.
I am willing to forgive. Notice, I did not say ‘I forgive’. Rather, I am willing to. I open to the possibility of forgiveness. It takes much of the burden out of bowing to forgiveness. And allows your mind to consider the idea.
It was someone else’s behavior. You did not initiate the situation. You really had nothing to do with it. It came about because of the other person’s character, actions and mannerisms. All you are required to do is observe it. Make no judgment on it. Send blessings to the situation.
If all else fails, Release It. There is an old saying, “If you can do something about it, then do. If not, let it go.” I believe that to be true. We tend to want to hold on to things that unset us. We may think we can ‘fix’ it, and spend a lot of time trying to. Usually, getting tangled up in a situation that has nothing to do with us. Just release it.
A special thought/prayer for such a situation: May all who are involved in (this situation) learn from their experiences in a loving and benevolent way.

PART ONE Introduction: AS THE CROWD REACTS
Omega – The End, Age 25
This story starts at the end, as do all unusual stories. Both main characters make it to the end. But right here you only read about Joseph. As American novelist, Louis L’Amour has been quoted, “There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.” So that is how we start this narrative.
Smoke from the makeshift garbage can fires that warmed the crowd burned his eyes and tightened his throat, as terrifying memories of fires from the past haunted Joseph Allen Walker. But he was determined to be there; to make a difference, and he worked past the memories and the smoke-filled lungs.
Joseph made an unsophisticated sign, and it was hovering above all the rest. The crude red letters saying, “Let him live,” stood out from the other signs.
It was the opposite of the other banners. They all were derogatory remarks about a convicted murderer. “Kill him like he killed that baby,” “Death to the bastard,” “An eye for an eye”.
Joseph thought to himself: “It’s strange how a quote from the bible could actually be associated with a death row execution. Didn’t the Christian religion advocate love one another?” Joseph was puzzled about the things he believed to be compassionate and caring.
The early morning rain had left the prison and its grounds looking dark and bleak. The clouds had not cleared, and the sunshine was only occasionally peeking through. The whole mood was somber.
None of the prisoners were outside in the yard. Whenever there was a pending execution at this New York prison, all inmates were on lockdown, and more guards were brought in to ensure there were no riots within prison walls.
All defense personnel were trained to expect problems in a case like this, but not for the hostile crowd outside. So the city police were called in to buffer the public.
The execution was to take place in one hour and the crowd was getting bigger. Everyone was agitated about the convicted man’s impending death. Some were there because they were angry about the prisoner’s actions. Some were simply thrill seekers.
Television coverage was intense, and the trial had been a long one. News reporters did not let the story rest. They actively kept the whole country tense about the upcoming execution.
The crowd kept growing and getting louder. It was as if they all were releasing lifetimes of hatred and fear – all towards this one prisoner.
The concepts of hate, death, religion, and love raced through Joseph’s head; a puzzled look came over his face; and he burst out in a strained, gravelly voice over the crowd, “This man was once a mother’s baby – a child of despair. He deserves only compassion.”
A nationally known television network crew was filming the whole scene and saw Joseph trying to persuade the crowd into a vibration of Life, rather than one of Death. One of the main news reporters thought she recognized him. What was so familiar about him? She was drawn to this man for some reason and knew she must talk to him immediately.
She started to make her way towards Joseph, dodging people who were swinging their fists, and ducking around a fight that was going on.

But just as the reporter heard him yell, Joseph was bashed in the head with a club. Joseph stood frozen for a second, his face and eyes went blank. He fell to the concrete with a thud. She lost sight of him. That one strike started others in the crowd reacting to the violence. Everyone joined in and started clubbing, kicking, and rioting.
As Joseph’s body slumped to the ground, the frenzy took over. He was crushed under the feet of people who lost control and awareness of what was happening. Men and women alike were screaming at the top of their lungs, unthinking, reactive responses made them look like wild animals in a lunatic-like frenzy.
Amid the commotion, the paramedics that were parked nearby, made their way to where Joseph fell. They saw the incident and immediately moved toward him. He was close to the spot they thought he fell. Carefully but purposefully, they picked up Joseph’s crumbled body and put it into the emergency truck.
After what seemed like hours, they were not able to revive him. They searched his pockets for identification. All they found was a badly worn name badge that bore the name Joseph Allen Walker. They filled out a card with his name on it and attached it to the body. As they pulled a sheet over his lifeless body, the worn-out name tag Joseph had for so many years was swept out of the truck by a light breeze and landed on the pavement.
Olivia, the news reporter picked it up, staring at the name in disbelief. Joseph Allen Walker. Could this man be the same young boy she rescued so many years ago?
“If everyone could hold peace in their hearts for each other, this Human Race would be won by each one of us. No second place. No runner up. Everyone would win.”

Here is an excerpt from a book that Joseph had been reading and studying. It is called All About Life and the Nature of Living, by Magna Christophers.
Before human life begins, our spirits reside in a nondescript space of love. In this space, called Soul Group, we exist and share with other spirit beings. We have shared many lifetimes and objectives. Each Soul Group has a Specific Directive or Purpose.
Each human lifetime and shared experience within the Soul Group becomes one full experience, directed by purpose. So, each human incarnation by a spirit is assisted by the other spirits in the Soul Group to achieve it.
When the Divine (AKA God) knows there is strife, discontent, and dissention in the Living World then a Mystery is created about to effect Change. This is called a Twin Flame Phenomenon.
The Phenomenon is not understood by many people. There is much mystery and alchemy involved. It is layered and multi-dimensional in nature.
Only when a special mission on earth is needed, do two souls agree to enter life together as one. Not as physical twins, but as twin spirits blending in understanding (but as two different people). One enters the world as Yin Energy, the other as Yang Energy: opposites. It is an undertaking that they agree to become one to accomplish.
Once they become humans, the Soul Group memory is hidden. And the events of life occur. The other members of Soul Group assist these two flames in their mission. They do this by working through spirit communication/guidance, and as living, human people gently directing them in life.
~~Magna Christophers
In 1971, two babies are born in Mystery, to accomplish a Twin Flame Phenomenon event. One child is born in Ohio. Joseph Allen Walker is born to loving, financially comfortable parents. The next state over, Pennsylvania, Donavon Clarence is born several months later to lower class, poor and emotionally troubled parents. The Soul Group memory and plan are forgotten, and they are left to experience Life as it presents itself.
