Is It a Spirit Visitation Dream?
I have had clients ask me about Visitation Dreams. I have to admit that it was not something I thought about - or even knew about. That is until my daughter passed away at the age of 36.
It was a sudden passing. She had not been sick. There was no auto accident. The doctors credited it to high blood pressure and said it probably was a pulmonary embolism. Still, she lived a thousand miles away and it was such a shock.
Several years went by before she came to one of my dreams. And I knew instantly that it was a Visitation Dream.
In the dream, Beaunet and I were walking down a sidewalk near a clothing store. The things around us were bright and colorful. I remember to this day the vibrant colors. We were hand in hand, swinging our arms up high - which is something we occasionally did. More as a silly thing. And we were having fun.
We got in the car. She was at the steering wheel. I was sitting in the back right behind her. I kept playing with her hair, feeling it and commenting on how pretty it was. The color of her hair was very distinct. And I could feel her hair. I remember feeling her hair.
She said in a loving and fun way, “Mom, stop that! You know I have to go.”
That was it! But when I woke up, I was smiling and happy probably for the first time since she left here. I knew for sure that I had a visitation dream with Beaunet!
This leads to the question: why would a loved one show up so distinctly in a dream?
The spirit loved one basically wants us to know that everything is alright. The best way to do that is to present themselves to you. Not only deceased loved ones, but also our guides and angels can show up in our dreams.
It is simply easier for them to communicate with us while we are asleep! Our conscious mind is asleep, and the unconscious mind (subconscious mind) is in charge. It is very open and able to allow such things to go on. During this time, our rational mind and our ego are not engaged. Things can happen in our dream world that we would normally stop or discount while awake.
For example, when someone who has died comes to visit us in our dreams, we aren’t as likely to have the “rational thought” that this person is actually dead and shouldn’t be in our dream. When they appear in the dream state, we accept that person’s presence without argument.
True “visitation dreams” are actually very easy to identify because they are very different than “everyday dreams.” Characteristics many visitation dreams include the following:
The most important characteristic of a true visitation dream is that it feels “real.” It will also be very vivid.
Since they are so real and so vivid, you will remember visitation dreams very clearly for days, months, years . . . probably for your entire lifetime!
The deceased person (or animal) will almost always appear completely healthy and behaving in a loving manner. They are now reconnected with God/Source/Spirit energy so they will be “whole, complete, and perfect.”
It isn’t easy for deceased loves ones to enter a dream. They come with a purpose, and they will convey the message and then be gone. It is very likely that you will wish the dream lasted longer.
Most often, their messages are of “reassurance.” They come to let you know that they are fine and that they want you to be happy.
After a visitation dream, when you wake up, you will feel a sense of peace and love.
