Review of 'Ghosts' TV sitcom

Last year, I came across a strange little sitcom in the middle of Thursday night. And it was about ghosts. My husband said ‘naw’. but I loved the idea of light humor and spooky beings and said ‘well, I’m giving it a try.’

I LOVED IT. Very cheeky and cleverly put together in a short half hour package make me want more.

Ghosts is an American television sitcom, created for CBS. It premiered on October 7, 2021 and was picked up for a full season. In January 2022, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on September 29, 2022.

Seems there is a young couple that inherits a dilapidated mansion that they believe will make a wonder bed and breakfast. Only they find out it is inhabited by ghosts who died on the mansion's grounds from Viking times, Victorian age, American Revolution, through the 1900s and are now bound to the area until they can reach the afterlife.

They are stuck there until they are able to admit something or fulfill their lives in some way. LOL the ghosts call it ‘being sucked off’. What? But it made sense to them that their spirit would be sucked off the earth plane and into the long-awaited afterlife.

Anyway, there are also Cholera ghosts in the basement that do not mingle with the others, and let off a rather, well, horrid stench. And every few weeks we are introduced to other new, or temporary ghosts on the premise.

But I’ll tell you, the main reason I like it and why I am sharing it with you here is that most of the descriptions and actions of the ghosts - info about spirits - is familiar to me. Someone did some really great investigation work finding out what ghosts are really doing when earthbound and how they became earthbound.

It covers spirit possession, finding out that they can move some objects, being able to move through walls, and was adapted from the British series of the same name.

Many endearing characters Trevor (Asher Grodman), the pants-less 90s stockbroker ghost, (uh, how did that happen?) Thorfinn (Devan Long) the Viking with quite a back story. The mysterious poisoning of Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Pete with an arrow through his neck and wearing a scout adviser’s uniform.
